School to Give Back Snow Days, May 20th and May 26th

- Due to the mild winter Port Jervis Schools will give back two remaining snow days.  There will be no school Friday, May 20th, and Thursday, May 26th.  District offices will be open.  All district offices will be closed Friday, May 27th and Monday May 30th in observance of Memorial Day.

Meet the Candidates Night - Tues. May 10th

May 2, 2016 - Port Jervis, NY - The Port Jervis City School District will host Meet the Candidates Night, Tuesday, May 10th, 7:00 PM, in the cafeteria of Port Jervis High School. This event is sponsored by the PTA.  Meet the Candidates Night is a forum for voters to get to know more about those running in the 2016 school board election. May 17, 2016 - Port Jervis City School District - Port Jervis voters go to the polls TUESDAY, MAY 17th. Port Jervis School District K-12 Art Show, Friday, May 13th

April 22, 2016 - PJHS - The Port Jervis High School Art Department is proud to host the 2016 District Art Show, Friday, May 13th, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, in the cafeteria of the high school.  This year the show will feature great art projects from students in grades K-12.  New for '16, the show will also highlight student's creations in our Technology classes and Family and Consumer Science classes.  For details, click HERE>

  Muller Named Scholar Athlete of The Week

April 4, 2016 - PJHS - Port Jervis senior Stephanie Muller was named the Time Warner Cable Scholar Athlete of the Week.  Muller has been a varsity player on both the volleyball and softball teams for the past three seasons.  Muller's Port Pride can be seen in her scholar athlete video which aired over the weekend.  For complete story and video, click HERE>

NYSPHAA PORT honors Winter Scholar Athletes

April 4, 2016 - PJHS - Three winter varsity teams qualified for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Team Scholar-Athlete Awards. Teams with a grade point average of 90% or higher receive a certificate for the school and each student athlete receives a pin for their achievement.  MORE>

PJ BOE PJCSD authorizes Referendum for Smart Bond Project

PJHS Math Teacher Carolyn Dorritie in running for NYS Teacher of the Year PJHS Math Teacher considered for New York State Teacher of the Year Award

March 15, 2016 - PJHS - Port Jervis High School math teacher Carolyn Dorritie has been named semi-finalist for 2017 New York State Teacher of the Year.  The Teacher of the Year award recognizes the exceptional skills and talents of the recipient and their superior ability to inspire learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities.  Dorritie's selection would be the first ever for Port Jervis Schools.  Complete story HERE>

February 19, 2016 - Port Jervis Police Youth Officer/Detective Scott Robertson visited ASK this week to celebrate citizenship with students.  Det. DARE HBE DARE Graduation

February 9, 2016 - HBE - Students in HBE 5th grades celebrated their graduation with ceremony and song.  Students were awarded certificates for their participation in this educational program.  Town of Deerpark Police Officer and DARE instructor Frank McGrath was the master of ceremonies.  Students presented McGrath with a check for $137.00, money they raised at a recent bake sale.  More HERE >

- The School District is re-opening the Indoor Winter Walking Trail at Port Jervis High School. Annual Me and My Guy Ice Cream Social at PJHS FRIDAY, APRIL 8th

April 8, 2016 - PJHS, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM -  Every year, girls in grades K-6, along with their special grown up guy….Dad, Uncles, Grandpa’s, Brothers etc… Have a great time! June 2015 - Congratulations to Michael Ilejay and Collin Ulmer who were recognized on June 2nd at the Orange Ulster BOCES Outstanding Career and Technical Education Students’ Recognition Dinner. Michael Ilejay is attending the Allied Health Assistant Program and will attend SUNY Orange in the fall and Collin Ulmer is in the Computer Technician program and has been awarded Student of the Month in each of the years he has attended CTEC. The Ted Kuykendall Community Service Award is presented to one student from each of our district’s four schools.
